Katy Hinchliffe was born in Lima, Peru and moved to the United States in 1989. On her 12th birthday, she received money as a present from her parents which she used to buy her first camera. She still has the camera to this day. That’s when her love for photography began. She discovered that she can make a career out of photography from her high school guidance counselor and instantly knew that’s what she wanted to accomplish. She attended Tom’s River Vocational School in New Jersey for Commercial Photography and learned to process film in the darkroom.
In October, 2014 Katy and her family moved to Brunswick, Ohio. A year later she started her own business as an Industrial Photographer and started attending Cuyahoga Community College at the same time. She is in pursuit of the Visual Communication & Design-Photography degree. She is happily married to her husband David Hinchliffe, with two kids, and a bratty dog by the name of Otto.
