About the Ebook
Japan has the most severe talent mismatch in the Asia Pacific region, while the Japanese population is steadily declining. The internationalization and migration of foreign highly-skilled personnel could be a solution to this increasing problem. However, Japan’s unique social and cultural values make it challenging for young professionals to integrate into the Japanese system. The recent educational reforms, such as Global 30, Global30+, and Top Global, try to attract skilled students to Japan, expose them to Japanese values, and create a pool of high potentials that can either spread Japaneseness to other countries or close the talent mismatch. In the current book, we summarize the recent data to clarify the goals, the success, and further challenges in the current strategies.
