Since 2011 Sioban Piercy has been making objects that could equally be described as sculptures, folded drawings or installations but the term she prefers is 'Book'. For her, the 'book' acts as a context to bring together diverse graphic and representational conventions as well as to create fragile and provisional three dimensional structures. The form of the book is the framework around which she allows the work to generate its own stories and to probe our acts of self interpretation.
