    About the Ebook

    Carlos Ramirez Carrasco werd in 1967 in Chili geboren. Hij volgde monumentale schilderkunst

    aan het RHoK in Etterbeek en schilderkunst aan de academie van Watermaal–Bosvoorde. Carlos

    is in essentie een bruggenbouwer, een 'ontkokerde' artiest en een netwerker. Hij noemt zichzelf

    een ‘kunstenaar zonder grenzen’ en wil dan ook alle grenzen overstijgen: van het Brusselse

    socio-culturele veld tot het internationale kunstmileu, van het beschilderen van een canvas in de

    rust van een atelier tot de artistieke interventie in de drukke stad. Hij werkt onder meer met

    schilderijen, video-installaties en dans. Carlos Ramirez verenigt met

    zijn temperament expressionisme en een surrealistische

    droomwereld, kleurzachtheid en beeldhardheid. Zijn werk, halfweg

    tussen figuratief en non-figuratief verbeeldt de duivel in een

    droomachtig universum dat het menselijke en dierlijke dichterlijk

    confronteert.

    Hij nam deel aan internationale evenementen zoals 'Fou-art-

    Montreal', 'Galery La Giraffe-Berlin', 'Zinneke Parade 2000-Brussel'

    en 'Espace Beaujon-Paris'. Hij leidde ook 'Projection Calibaní' in de

    voormalige Veeartsenijschool en het kunstenaarscollectief 'Team In

    Time ' met Julie Duquesne vanaf 2006.

    cosmopolitan artist Carlos Ramirez is a monumental artist, born in Chile. He doesn’t know any border and exchanges kwowledge as a free electron. He participated at international events like Fou-art-Montreal, Galery La Girafe-Berlin and directed a pluridisciplinary venue in Brussels with ‘Projection Caliban’.he arrived at a tender age in Belgium and studied in Brussels at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Watermael-Boitsfort Academy (Paul Gobert). He then went on to do further painting studies with Maio Wassemberg.Spaeking several languages perfectly, he has been immersed in Latin American culture and the two major components of “Belgitude”.He is no stranger to exhibiting, having displayed his work on numerous occasions, individually and collectively, both in Belgium (XIII OXY gallery, Free University of Brussels, Jodoigne Town Hall, etc) and in Canada (Québec).He produced her latest work in deSingel-Antwerp, for Nuits Blanches-Brussels and at the Night of the Musea 2009.
