Enclosed are ten fabrications at the scale of habitation. They are speculative to social, financial and architectural ideas about various types of habitation of space. They involve found conditions that are excessively modified and sometimes changed very little or are new constructs. They are attempts at various scales and some involve risk in support of gain. Many are closely held projects that are changed over time by clients, habitants, authors, or market forces. Often they are conceived jointly with other design disciplines and some involve direct construction and collaboration with other architects. Others have a single authorship. All are built by unconventional means.



The Work is characterized by old uses that are given new meaning within a budget context. As such, many combine standard off-the-shelf materials that are reinterpreted into new conditions and meanings. All of these projects share the belief that the architect provides SUPPORT for habitation FILL and the resultant ACTION completes the design cycle.
