The female shape forms a landscape in itself with it's lines, shapes and textures. Lines describe it, tones shape it and gesture defines it.



As a landscape photographer I found it a natural move to place the female figure into my landscapes to add a new dynamic and to repeat or oppose the beauty, the shapes and the textures in both subjects. It was an exciting venture when I embarked on it in 2009 and I did not forsee that over the next three years it would lead to a dramatic shift in my perception and my response to the images that I make.



The result is contained in this book where I see the actual image as secondary to the visual statement it makes and the mood that it conveys.
