About the Book
I am fascinated with the stories of the people of Western Australia and how they shaped the land we live in. For over 45 years, the members of the Zonta Club of Perth have said yes to gender equality and no to violence against women. How they have done this is captured in the photos and stories of the colourful History of the Zonta Club of Perth. This was a labour of love as I knew many of the members having been a member myself since 1999. The second book captures the time around the birth of WA as seen through the eyes of Samuel Johnson Hayes - State parliamentarian and one of the state's first lawyers, who spent much of his life in Albany. This book was written by Nerrida Porteous (a member of the Zonta Club of Swan Hills) from his diaries. I had the privilege of turning the manuscript into a book - thank you Nerrida for the opportunity! I am looking forward to planning the next book!
