About the Book
«21 is:
fear of life in the ‘real world’ and finding a job post-graduation. 21 is coming to terms with the fact that fucking up is and will always be inevitable. 21 is chock-full of heartbreak and betrayal. 21 is discovering what and who you value above all else.
21 can be lonely. 21 can be exciting and exhilarating. 21 can feel scary and invigorating and endless.
It is young and vibrant and uncertain. And for better or for worse, it doesn’t last forever.»
Following the passing of a close friend in February 2019, Ingwersen sifted through hundreds of analog images shot throughout the months prior in order to create a visual narrative depicting the life she and her friends previously shared. The end result was this photo book, which celebrates youth, life, and the power of nostalgia.
