    About the Book

    Edit

Emily tells her story of getting hit with a vestibular condition (vestibular neuritis and vestibular migraines) seemingly out of the blue, exploring her way through healing, and eventually thriving with her vestibular condition and beyond. She shares an honest and raw account of her mind and body experience in the throes of a vestibular condition, but also reveals that there was a bright light of hope in the dark tunnel and the potential for happiness and joy along the path.

This book is her heart and soul transformed into the words, thoughts and feelings that decorated a chapter of her life. Writing is the perfect medium for sharing stories that are harder to tell through the spoken word and this was especially true for Emily when she was lost in the messy middle of a health crisis where she couldn’t make sense of how she had even fallen into the chaotic storm or if an exit existed. She shares her path to healing, the overwhelming symptoms, experiences with doctors of western and alternative approaches, her holistic toolkit, a healing diet, climbing her way out of vestibular migraine attacks, and what it took to keep pushing through the darkness to find a grounded state.

She made the decision to share her story to divulge everything that once felt broken and to create a path for others who are battling a vestibular something. Emily desperately wanted someone who had been in her shoes (or even a similar pair) to tell her that they had made it through. In this book, she tells the story and offers the support that she needed to hear. Most importantly, she unfolds her journey through the dark and how following the light within her became her guide.

This book is to bring a voice to a time when she felt like she had lost hers. It’s also to be a voice for the many Vestibular Warriors who deserve to be heard.
