About the Book
"Sanctuary In and Around the Macquarie Marshes" explores the life and times of Rex and Essie Smith in the 1930s. They were hardy souls who loved nature and travel. They have driven over outback roads and through places many people would have never attempted, all this over 80 years ago. They loved the back of beyond.

About the Creator
Anne Farrell
Bindoon, Western Australia
Anne Farrell is an amateur photographer and keen historian whose maternal grandparents were travellers all through the outback of New South Wales in the 1930s. Granny Smith, Essie, wrote two manuscripts recounting their travels and they lay unread and unloved until retyped over the last few years. This book is the first of them. Anne keeps a daily diary and photographs regularly while at home or travelling Australia. Essie's second manuscript, River Magic is in the pipeline.
