Family has always been important to me. My grandfather told me as a young woman that the older you get the faster time goes so that all you have left in the end is memories. Well, those memories are like diamonds to me. That is why I have written books about Mom's Italian recipes as well as my parents' family genealogies. We live in a fast pace society where people text, email, instagram, twitter and etc. Yes, family stories are shared verbally with other family members, but how much of that is written down so it is not forgotten? And if it is written down via technology, all of that family information can be easily lost and forgotten by a touch of a button. A book isn't so easy to lose and it keeps those memories safe within its pages so they stay with you like an old friend in the years to come. And that is why I wrote the books--for my Family. May they never be forgotten in the midst of time.
