About the Book
This was an unusual twist for the celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. But it was exactly what we wanted, and the celebration was enjoyed by everyone. Instead of the "usual" reception with cake and punch and maybe a dance, we decided to celebrate in the Mountains of Colorado. We, along with our family have been camping in the Colorado Mountains for the better part of our married life, so this seemed to be very appropriate. There were many things to do and many choices for lodging. It was perfect!! And this picture book will help each of them remember.

I was born, and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Then I met and married a guy from western Kansas. Talk about a wake up!! He was in the Army so we moved around quite a bit during our early married life. We eventually settled in Kansas in a small town that was just perfect for our family. My husband Van and I have four sons and their wives; 15 wonderful and talented grandchildren; and at this time three lovely great granddaughters. I really enjoy writing and especially enjoy writing about our ancestors. I wrote my first book about my husband's family "The Hawkins Kids", and the current book is a picture book to recognize and celebrate our "50th Anniversary". Next I hope to begin on my life - at least what I can remember. It gives me joy to remember and then write it down.
