About the Book
I chose to call this collection of images “Monochrome Squares”, because, in many cases, a touch of sepia tone has been added to provoke feelings of nostalgia and warmth. The square format is a little less formal, which lends itself to a little bit of whimsy here and there. I also wanted these images to be smaller in size, so they evoke a feeling of intimacy with the subject – as if you are holding personal memories of things you have seen or experienced.

SuZan Alexander
Miles City, Montana, United States
SuZan Alexander was born in Texas and completed a Bachelors (BA) degree in Fine Art. It was at college where she discovered her passion for art history and photographic processes. Currently, she works predominantly in the medium of photography to tell her visual stories. Her images often focus on neglected, abandoned, overlooked, or unusual subjects. This gives her the opportunity to marry the old and the new in her images for an exciting visual anthropology.
