In May of 2018 I packed my old SUV and set off on a month long road trip that began in Minneapolis and included Washington, Oregon, California, Utah and Colorado. My objective was to visit and camp at a dozen different National Parks and photograph each of the park's natural landscapes. I survived almost exclusively on the rations I took camping with me. I spent my days hiking with my camera in hand and my nights sleeping in the wild in a small dome tent. Given the limited amount of time allowed, to both scout and shoot at each location, most of the images were made as quickly as possible, in real time as I hiked the various trails. By the end of my journey I had traveled over 8,000 miles and captured approximately 5,000 images. The images contained in this book—over 200 full color images—are my selections from all of the images I made during the month.

I created this book to share the natural, rugged beauty of these amazing locations, as seen through my eyes and captured with my lens.
