I am always in awe of the beauty that surrounds me. I choose to stop and stare. This world is a magnificent place, and I am fascinated with all of the minutiae, the finer details. I aim to capture the feeling, because, as we know, all moments are fleeting. To be able to have a tangible recollection of emotions in a moment passed in time. That is what I love about photography. It's so much more than just a pretty image.

This photographic series is based on the simple concept “go because you can” and what it looks like on a daily basis for the Earth-loving, early-morning surfer, John Afshari. Being a lover of life and mother Earth myself, I admire the drive John has to go chase his passion. I find human beings to be such beautiful creatures and everything we do in a moment to moment basis is so simple yet SO complex and completely intriguing if you really think about it. And so, I take photos. A lot of them. To capture the brilliance of life, in the moments that may seem mundane. My book will represent a journey of creating bliss, and deepening spirituality by connecting with oneself through the ocean.
