Controlled Burn is an anthology that captures the experience of living, working and learning in Sonoma County during the 2017-2018 school year. Its title is a reference to the indigenous practice of fire management that relies on deliberate and limited destruction in order to sustain new growth. It also alludes to the North Bay fires in the Fall of 2017, which was the genesis of this project.
