The Reactive Mind follows a Welsh couple in their sixties and their recent move to California, away from their family. The husband Barry appears to be enjoying his new retirement, rediscovering his passion in football. Jo, his wife, is agitated by Barry’s constant appearance and interference with her home life, decides to pursue a career in acting. However she soon is sucked into LA life with the discovery of Scientology. The play is an exploration of the repercussions of retired life, exploring how easily marital dynamics can shift and create apathetic secrecy.
