sophie tom has been making journeys difficult for the last fifteen years.



The photographs are taken from three incredible voyages;

Hull to Kathmandu in six weeks, in an old Land Rover.

San Francisco to Ushuaia, Argentina in twelve months travelling over land and sea by public transport, foot and sailboat.

Auckland to Auckland - a four month 4,500 mile circumnavigation of New Zealand's Coastline alone by bicycle.



The voyages themselves are part process, part performance each responding to a specific set of rules in order for sophie tom to arrive.
