    About the Book

    Edit

Art sent from 76 amateurs and professionals across New York's Finger Lakes region and around the world has been assembled by Cindy Dalton. Each stroke of color and every click of the camera throughout these pages represent an artist's "hug." And every "hug" carries hope, love, and care to children struggling with long-term health issues. Interesting information about the works of art and their creators is accompanied by hands-on activities like coloring or collage to entertain, engage, inspire and encourage children of all ages.

    Cindy Dalton
    New York

Cindy Dalton is an artist, art teacher, and cancer survivor. During her treatments for breast cancer she found her practice of art to be helpful in her healing. She was also consoled by the hug of a stranger. She realized the importance of both and the idea of "Hug of Compassion" was born. She reached out to artists from across the world to join her to create this special gift. Their hope and prayer is that this book will be that expression of care, comfort, connection and hope to those needing a "HUG."
