This book presents a selection of Georgian-born British artist Jemal Gugunava's art work. Spreading his time between UK, Prague and Georgia, he paints everything that catches his eye and imagination from landscapes, places, streets, still life, people, portraits to female forms. This variety of subjects is an influence of his academical education which he combines with contemporary vision. Using a palette knife and brush Jemal creates thickly textured paintings that are rich in colour and depth. Jemal’s art reflects his mood and a spontaneous outpouring of emotions, his philosophy of life - harmony, purity, deep reflection, beauty, contemplation, reserve and simplicity of existence.
