    About the Book

    Edit

Felipe was an unusual name in the small isolated Newfoundland community where the boy was born in 1937, but the saga around his name is nothing compared to the anxiety and desperation that lie ahead. Shy and withdrawn he feels in the language of the place and time, "like a fish out of water."

Mose Ingram was born and raised in the now resettled community of Kingwell in Placentia Bay on the island segment of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Here he attended a two-room school graduating in June of 1957. In September of the same year, at the age of Seventeen, he began a teaching career at the one-room school in Little Bay in Hermitage Bay. After leaving the teaching profession he spent 47 years in Arnold's Cove and now lives in Clarkes Beach.
