In 2014 we are celebrating three quarters of a century serving our customers and our community.
Started in 1939 on Spring Street in Newton when my father, Elias Hayek, moved our family from Clifton, Hayek’s Market has been a thriving cornerstone of our adopted town and county.
My brother Mitchell and I took over the business in 1957 and in 1963 we built the store in its current locationwhere it is now owned and operated by my son Dan and his wife, Denise, and their children Josh & Julie
Last year under Dan & Denise’ direction, Hayek’s Market was remodeled and expanded, adding an ice cream parlor, a bakery, more room for perishables, larger deli section and kitchen.
We have invested in our business with the intention of continuing it for generations to come.
We are proud of our history of maintaining quality products and service expected by our many loal customers. But as Dan said at the market’s grand re-opening last fall, “We can’t do it by ourselves”
