About the Book
The goal of this undertaking was to create interesting and aesthetic compositions using leaves. I used a variety of different photographic techniques and experimented with the way I composed the subjects. Such as using a light box to light the leaves from underneath. Lighting the leaves from the bottom allowed me to capture the structure of the veins in the leaves, a single leaf lit this way created beautiful images, almost as if the leaf was suspended in space. I wanted create new forms using my subjects, so I started laying leaves overtop one another to create new forms from the shadows cast. The negative space created by overlapping became as important to composition as the leaf itself.
