It's not a portrait without a face. Or is it? Does a portrait have to be about the face? Or can a portrait portray life in it's own subtle and quirky way?



In 2006 I became a Mom which has opened my my eyes to an entire new world, both in mentality and through visual sensibility. The focus of my work has shifted and childhood has become my muse. I love capturing the unexpected things that children do everyday that remind me of my own childhood and never cease to make me smile.



I began meditating on a concept that could carry through an entire book. Not an easy task! Something I began to notice about my images is that they are more about the moment than the actual model. So I went with "Faceless Portraits" to convey the idea that these could be pictures of anyone. Without the presence of a single identity, the image or action might trigger an element of nostalgia, connecting the book to the viewer. Through fun, energetic, colorful, slices of life it is my goal to share these moments with the world. Maybe they'll remind them of simpler times and their own youthful spirit. My wish is to make you see something ordinary a little bit differently, and delight your senses.
