About the Book
"My name is Zara. I am thirteen years old and I live in Dammam, Saudi Arabia with my parents in a small house .... "Zara, he [the falcon] needs to compete!" my father exclaimed suddenly. "But father, I am a girl. I don't think I am allowed to compete. It's not normal for females to compete in men's sports," I sighed. "Zara , ... keep telling yourself that you are not below someone because of your gender.... Do not think that your found this falcon by coincidence."

About the Creator
It all started for the love and necessity of dreaming, creating and sharing. We want to engage the imagination of young minds because of their extraordinary capacity to invent the future. La Plume offers students the opportunity to express themselves through a short story with rules relevant to their grade level. A panel of professionals from the literary, educational, and art worlds evaluates all submissions. A Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner is granted per level (Elementary, Middle and High School). Cash prizes, Plaques, Medals and/or Certificates are awarded to all winners. Each Grand Prize winner has their original manuscript published as a book, and has a video clip made on an excerpt of their story. Creative Writing sessions are offered to all recipients. The other winning categories are the Special Honorary, Honorary, Achievement, and Encouragement Award.
