Caracas en varios tiempos es una contribución a la historia mínima de la ciudad. Documenta usos, tradiciones, espacios urbanos, creencias, valores y modas que pueden desdibujarse en el conocimiento futuro de nuestro pasado citadino si no quedan debidamente registrados. Crónica y testimonio, el libro, en su conjunto, no renuncia, sin embrago, a una recreación de la ciudad, reconstruida por la subjetividad de cada uno de los autores y por una intersubjetividad, derivada tanto de sus propias y particulares experiencias sociales como de un relativamente largo compartir recuerdos y precisiones para pulir y perfeccionar los textos. Este movimiento polifónico, en la quietud de las casas de Nelly y Rebeka, servidas sus mesas con generosidad, permitió, en gran parte, afinar el diálogo y el tono, el acento y la cadencia de los recuerdos, creando textos e intertextos que configuran una unidad esencial en torno a Caracas, aunque en varios tiempos.

It documents uses, traditions, urban spaces, beliefs, values and fashions that can fade into the future knowledge of our city past if they are not properly registered.
