About the Book
Emigrants
Portraits and stories from the edge of the world.
Between sea and mountains, in the far north of Norway,
three women tell their stories of movement, distance, and belonging.
They come from Uruguay, Poland, and Norway —
but all found themselves living among the light and silence of Lofoten.
Through their words and faces, this book explores what it means
to start over, to leave, to stay, and to call a new place “home.”
Photographed and compiled by Sławek Podwojski,
Emigrants is a quiet visual testimony of identity in motion —
a reminder that migration is not only a journey across borders,
but also across one’s own inner landscape.
