I am a retired Primary School Headteacher. Though I have painted all my life it is only in recent years that I have concentrated on exhibiting my work. Primarily I work with acrylic paint and ink, collage and mixed media. The acrylics are applied with rollers, pieces of shaped wood, card and any found materials. Collage materials comprise of torn or shaped tissue paper, newsprint, and magazine illustrations. Details are also added with oil and chalk pastels, pen and ink. Like many artists my inspiration comes from the subject matter. Boats and harbours, landscape, including my native Shropshire, town and cityscapes all provided inspiration for my impressionist style. I have exhibited, sold and received awards in all the local Shropshire Exhibitions and Galleries, The Royal Society of British Artists (Mall Galleries). I am an Associate member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. My work was featured in an article in the December 2013 issue of the Artist Magazine.
