L. Carbone is a freelance author and illustrator, preferring to be known as “Illustrauthor”. Born and grew up in Bogota, Colombia, L. Carbone studied Industrial Engineer and afterwards a master in Rural Development in Chile. With both of the sides of what Development implies, L. Carbone launched and managed for a decade a web site about organic farming and fair trade practices in Colombia, and, in order to fully understand what means to grow and take care of a crop, as well as untangling the “fair” concept, L. Carbone worked as an organic farmer for those ten years. Even though for everyone else it was considered a ‘lost decade’ (as the farming was unsustainable and the web site finally lost within the unpredictability of web domains), L. Carbone managed to nourish a secret self, discovered in the versatile and almost diverse genres of a writing style. This, added to the illustration workshops attended in Italy during a sabbatical year, led L.Carbone to work both with words and images.
