Where possible my aim is to challenge the fundamentals and boundaries of photography and to strive to be unique in my preferred style of photographic art. When creating pictures, I attempt to produce work that could possibly grace a living room wall. Picture sharpness is not a priority and I purposely set out to reduce the sharpness that we generally expect from a photograph. Compositional rule breaking is something I enjoy so I try to add this to the mix when appropriate. Photography is visual; the image is all-important so in my mind there are no rules. The creative process begins to take shape in my imagination and evolves with the use of traditional photographic techniques along with various art and craft techniques. Finally, Photoshop allows me to bring my perceived idea to fruition with the use of layers and masks.
