    About the Book

    Edit

At the heart of this collection, which is an eclectic mix of different poems, there is a playful exploration of the art of poetry. Written over five years, between 2005-2010, this is the poet's first collection of poems. Drawing upon and inspired by the Romantic Poets of the 18th Century, the poems are raw and vulnerably honest. They demonstrate a courage to have a voice against a politically correct backdrop that, in the name of 'tolerance', attempts to silence those who share differing views; usually by just shouting louder. And yet, these poems also display passion, a passion for the power of poetry itself. Power to move you, provoke you, enrage you, comfort you and create debate. After all, isn't that what poetry is meant to do?
