About the Book
When I moved to London, in 2012, I started to take daily photographs with the objective of framing pauses in space and forming worlds through an archive of instants. Between 2013 and 2015, I built a collection of more than one thousand images (one photo per day), and this archive became a labyrinth for disclosing a myriad of personal stories. When I published the artist's book diário2013, which is a photo-diary comprising photographs and extracts from my written diary, I started to navigate the fragments of an intimate narrative and, at the same time, to be aware of wider experiences of geographical displacement and dislocation in language lived by other immigrant women. Then, I noticed that this diary could work as a intimate mapping process for going beyond my own experience and for moving towards the decolonial self.
