    About the Book

    Edit

Jay is one of the many millions of people who feel the urge to do something other than just earn a living and be entertained. There are a few things he dislikes, and some things he hates but there are very, very many things that he loves. One of his loves is language with its evocative sounds and suggestions of all sorts of things that words and the images they can conjure up and the emotions they can stir and the inspiration they can kick-start. The subtle meanings, the contradictions, the similarities, - their rhymes and their rhythms.
Added to a somewhat selective and rudimentary knowledge of the English language, he speaks some Swahili and Spanish. It could be that a combination of laziness, impatience, haphazardness and his lamentable lack of a wide vocabulary accounts for his habit of inventing of words hitherto unknown and hence unrecorded, to express the essence of his jumbled, mumbled thoughts.
Some claim that he has a talent as an artist though, if success is judged by sales, recognition and fame, the claim would certainly have to be denied.
He has, it is true, dabbled in various media, - drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture and mosaic as well as writing, stories, poetry and songs, but these activities have not been in the pursuit of wealth or fame, but as a way of occupying his free time to amuse himself and perhaps entertain his friends into the bargain. There is very little that is profound to be found in his work. He feels that LIFE should be spelt LAUGH.

This is my first Book its a coffee table book about Letterboxes In Australia. I have lived in several countries and they all have their own take on Mail delivery. That is why I thought Australian letter boxes were so amazing and unique. Thought lots of countries would disagree. I decided that someone had to document this as letter boxes could become a thing of the past with all the electronic options around these days.
