This book uncovers the ancestral story of my parents John Abram and Agatha [Driedger] Dick. In addition you will find why a people of Dutch background, who spoke German as their mother tongue, were living in pre-revolutionary Russia (Ukraine today) While many may be familiar with that story, this book takes a deeper look, the rest of the story. A significant part of the book is how Schoenfeld came to be, a unique region of large farms during The Golden Years, and how Schoenfeld became particularly vulnerable during the subsequent anarchy.
