About the Book
This book is the result of many early mornings, late nights and in-between times combined with a deep passion to capture both natural and man-made beauty. My pieces try to bring a refuge into the home. To bring the peace I seldom feel and crave, closer to those who need it. The ingredients of each piece is unique; dependent on location, time and my current thought space.

Established in 2013 by myself, 5-AM IMAGES specialises in producing high-quality pieces to inspire, to provide solace in this intense world we exist in and to bring the outside calm of nature into our inside world, sustenance for the instinctive mind.

I have been a photographer for quite some time now. And I use the word photographer loosely, as its not my profession, I have not been trained, I have no certifications in photography, I stand naked and unknowlegded in this particular world. But, I have a camera (several by now) and importantly, I have a passion. It gets me up before dawn, it compels me to bring my camera everywhere I travel, to observe and to 'make'. I am English but speak Dutch and in that language you don't take a picture, you make it. Perhaps then, I should have started with "I have been a maker for quite some time now". My images show both the calm I strive for but rarely manage, along with other pieces that are dark and grubby, showing up humanity for what it is.
