About the Book
In 1942 Norman Henry Carter volunteered for service in Britain's 'Hour of Need.' Joining the Royal Army Service Corps (R.A.S.C) as a driver, he kept a series of diaries during his military service with the 1st Army in North Africa and then with the 8th Army in Italy and on through Europe.
This collection of memories is taken directly from the diaries of: T/10694528 Dvr N.H. Carter R.A.S.C
From the tail end of the North Africa campaign, through to the thick of the action at Monte Cassino, Norman travelled with 'Lady Luck,' until he came face to face with a desperate enemy.
This diary depicts the realities of war for the men who kept the guns firing and the troops fighting.

My name is Ferguson Hunter. I am a former British Serviceman who served in Airborne and Commando Forces, before working in the war ravaged cities of the Middle East as a bodyguard on the 'Circuit.' Hanging up the guns and picking up a pen, I now write about military, war and adventure within a memoir context and as fiction. I have been published in several magazines, including 'Circuit' magazine on numerous occasions. I also speak at public and private engagements, offering an interesting and alternative to sporting after dinner speakers. My website is www.fergusonhunter.com
