Most of the people in this book are real, some characters are composites of several people, and some are entirely fictional. The events in this story are largely true though they might not have occurred in just the way portrayed or involved the people that are included. The gist of the story is factual, based on oral history, the main characters lived and died as recounted and their descendants roam the countryside still.
