After the financial crisis in 2008 many of my family and friends left Latvia due to the harsh economic situations, unemployment, and lack of opportunities. I then decided to venture to America in search of a better life. I found happiness in Dallas where I fell in love with an American and got married, continued my education, and began a new career. After living in Dallas for 5 years, I began to reflect on my experience and decided to create a project that addresses immigration and separation. I traveled back to Europe and met with some of my friends abroad and my family back at home.
