Incunabula is an exploration of the emergence of printing in Europe. Beginning in the 10th century, it looks at some of the root causes which made printing an inevitable eventuality, at the concrete form of the printing press, the innovations of early printers, and the ramification of printing in Europe. Includes several vignette biographies of important printers and typographers, and photographs of several dozen examples of their work.
