This series of photographs, taken 2013-2015, explores landscapes within an hour's drive from developed areas, often much closer. I am looking for open, nearly undeveloped space with only subtle human traces. The images remind me that, as a society, we are relatively recent visitors to the area. As individuals, we see the landscape through our uniquely human perspective. For most of us, our presence in the wilderness is only temporary, before we return to our houses and cities.
