His subjects are as eclectic as his destinations: from Rwanda’s endangered mountain gorillas, to Greenland’s monolithic icebergs, to the bizarre rituals of Benin’s annual voodoo festival. He has endured temperatures from -50 C to +50 C, traversed active conflict zones, evaded a kidnapping attempt, and even been detained by the authorities on suspicion of covert activities.
