It’s Just Too Noisy is a short story written and illustrated by Kathryn Lawes. The situation reflected in this short story is when children find the room is too noisy to concentrate. This theme is portrayed throughout the book by subtle suggestive use of characters. By having various scenarios, each one encourages a different solution to the problem that the child could encounter. By creating this book as a choice book, if they choose the wrong option, the story will play out the consequential action. This encourages children not to lash out or scream and shout as the incorrect outcomes represented in the book show negative situations in which Barney regrets his actions.
