Models On Phones was created by Melissa Stetten who has been documenting her life as a model in New York, London, and Los Angeles. She quickly realized other models were just as bored as her, and they passed the time waiting for their names to be called at castings by staring at their phones. The Instagram hashtag 'ModelsOnPhones' was born in 2012, and Melissa has since accumulated over 100 photos. Also being a writer, she added a caption underneath each photo as to what she believes the model is texting at that moment. Models on Phones is essentially a sample of how she copes with feeling like another disposable commodity in a world that relies on bone-structure, while being number 72 on the sign-in sheet.
