Robert Wade OAM AWI (LM) FRSA(UK) AWS(USA) MHSMA (Mexico) Long recognised as one of the leading traditional watercolour artists in the world, Melbourne artist Robert Wade is also generally regarded as one of the world’s foremost golf course painters. His watercolours have received 12 Major overseas awards in England, France and USA, plus over 120 awards in Australia. A Member of the Metropolitan G.C. since 1952, playing from a single figure handicap for many of those years and winning two Metro Foursomes Championships partnered by Michael Clayton. A member of The National G.C. since its inception, a member of the Golf Society of Australia and the Australian Seniors’ Golf Society, he has a deep knowledge and love for the game, which is translated into his paintings of many of the great courses of the world. His painting of St .Andrews, reproduced on the USGA’s Christmas Card in 1992, is included in the survey book “300 Years of Golf Art”.
