Imaginary Beings is a modern compendium of visual curiosities, culled from the backwoods of the artist's mind, including imagined beings and wild beasts, trumped up lands and places, maps that take you nowhere--and more.

The book showcases 44 pieces of original art that Willson created for her "Imaginary Beings" 2015 solo exhibition at Levy Art and Architecture Gallery in San Francisco. Images span a selection of Willson's woodcarvings and her digital imagery--which she painted with her finger on an iPad. Willson also created a unique book design to house her Beings, and set the book's type in her own hand-made Rustic LR typeface, with hand-drawn calligraphic titles.
