das werk von christoph steinemann a.k.a STONEMAN beschäftigt sich mit sichtweisen auf unsere welt. so vielfältig seine kunstwerke in form und inhalt scheinen, so einfach und gradlinig ist das, was dahinter steht. immer geht es darum, sachverhalte – zeitkritisch und mit bissigem humor hinterfragt – zu visualisieren. themen und inhalte werden in arrangement und material reflektiert, und was dabei entsteht, ist ein stimmiges resultat, das bände spricht. jedes einzelne der werke von STONEMAN ruft im betrachter eine art «ach ja, klar» hervor. die interpretationen sind eigentlich nie weit hergeholt – und trotzdem liegen sie erst nahe, wenn man als betrachter das werk vor sich sieht. STONEMANs grosse qualität liegt darin, interpretationen zu veranschaulichen, die sozusagen immer direkt um die ecke liegen: ausser reichweite und doch gleich nebenan.



STONEMAN addresses social and societal issues, invites to discuss big and critical topics. his specialty is to address these issues in a positive manner: his approach is always playful, sarcastic and shows a great deal of humour.


STONEMAN works with most diverse media, techniques and materials. his extraordinary skills in crafting makes each one of his works a technical masterpiece. the content of his pieces, as well, shows a great variety and is rich in detail.
since the early 1990s, STONEMAN has been very active. his works were presented in shows and sold to collectors throughout europe and the U.S. he lives and works in vogelsang, switzerland.
