POETRY HOT COFFEE COLD FEET begins in a journal for writing poetry turned sketch book slash painting journal slash cartoon manifest. The collection of ink and watercolor drawings and paintings mixed with poetry, quips, numbers and symbols has become somewhat a daily exercise and they have pushed their way into the fabric of my chosen style of expression, even out of the journal onto my canvas and gently mixed with acrylic medium. The images in this volume are published elsewhere in full color, but a black and white presentation has been chosen to emphasize the poetic substance of the drawings. Their content is a graphic form of the spoken word and many of them are purposely crafted on lined or dotted paper and kept in their original bound book or spiral drawing pad form. As a collection, the pages are kept in near subsequent order to tell the story as it has been experienced. Sometimes one will find a comedy, sometimes a tragedy, in either case the honesty of a moment is likely to be expressed in metaphor or simile and perhaps it will be colored by the spectrum of a rainbow, or simply left naked in black and white.
