About the Book
'Verticals' is an ongoing project started in 2014.

I've always had an interest in natural structures, shadows and textures.

I believe that shape and form tends to be enhanced when limiting the image to the simplicity of black and white.

Volume One explores the natural vertical structures seen in different areas of the UK.

All photographs were taken using a Fujifilm X100S camera.

Until 2013 I had mainly used a Canon EOS 7D with a range of lenses including the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. The acquisition in 2013 of a Fujifilm X100S totally changed my view on small cameras and photography … at the moment it’s all I use for 99% of the time. My Photographs have been used by: Grupo Autêntica (Brazil), Leeds City Council, BBC Countryfile Magazine, BettaKultcha, BBC Leeds, 5×5 Photomagazine (California), Molly Bloom, Hoodoo, Idris Bach Cottage, YEP, The Forbidden Corner and many other individuals web projects.
