What almost forced me to document these scenarios are the strong links between brass music and Nationalism, tradition, and military - the last three categories being slightly suspect topics
to me. So I was just curious and stunned in the end. To do justice to this cultural heritage I choosed to render these photographical images as a variety of traditional drawings or scetches.

All images are taken on several National Days of Austria and on Traditional Brass Music Festivals, that are celebrated in the middle of Vienna (between the House of Major and the National "Burgtheater" as well as on the "Heldenplatz").
"National Heavy Metal" is a photographical series done beween 2004 and 2013 and edited as a book in 2014.
