For many years I have been dreaming of taking a trip to Børgefjell National Park. Now that I have taken early retirement, I finally got the opportunity to experience a little of what this national park has to offer both in terms of natural beauty, wildlife and birdlife.
Previously in spare time I have been doing a little fishing. Now my interest in photography has taken over more and more. I therefore decided to pack the sack with emphasis on prioritizing photo, but I also had to bring some fishing gear to secure additional supply of food.
No matter how you pack for such a trip, I find it hard to get the backpack to weigh less than 25-30 kg. With such a heavy bag one has to be extra careful in rough terrain when walking alone as I did.
Despite the heavy bag, I had some great days in the beginning but at the end the weather was much worse and some of the time was spent in the tent studying the manual for the GPS. One of these rainy days I also saw some birds of prey circling over a mountaintop about 600-700 meters away. Because of the rain I was therefore not able to take pictures of them, but at least I got some pretty great nature images.
